You have had a long week at work, so order your favourite takeaway to be delivered. You don’t want the delivery guy to think you live alone, so you order for 2.  The 2nd meal will be great tomorrow.

Problem is, there is nothing left tomorrow, you ate the meal, then later that evening ate the 2nd.

Comfort Food

During times when we are feeling low, or depressed.  We might be just tired. Comfort food can make us feel better, for a little while at least.

So we eat more than we need to keep feeling better, or at least try to.

The guilt arrives

Once we have eaten something we should not have, or too much, the guilt comes.

Why did we do it?

This cycle can be broken by changing your mindset.

I have done it.

I used to eat a large chocolate bar for dinner some nights, just to try to feel a bit better.

It didn’t work.

After I felt worse for having eaten it.

There is hope

I broke the cycle.  I now have a healthier diet that is good for me.

The key thing is I love my diet more than my old one.  I LOVE food.  I enjoy eating and now enjoy it more than before. My diet is balanced and healthy, and I eat out, get take always and I still eat cake.

In fact I am a terrible cook so probably eat out more than most of you.
